Brought in my grandfather's Seiko automatic, which had been sitting in a drawer for about fifteen years. The team gave me a written note of condition before any work started, then sent photographs when they opened the movement. The stop-point system is exactly what it sounds like — I was asked whether to continue at each stage. Took about nine weeks, but the watch now runs within a few seconds per day. The printed record they included is something I didn't expect and found genuinely useful.

Crystal replacement for a dress watch I wear regularly. The scratch had been bothering me for months and I kept putting off dealing with it. The process here was simpler than I expected — they showed me the crystal options before anything was ordered, and the turnaround was about five days. Minor note: I had to follow up once to confirm it was ready, which would have been better if they'd reached out first. But the work itself is clean and the fit is correct.

Light service on a mid-range automatic I use daily. The timing machine reading before and after was a detail I hadn't seen elsewhere — the before reading was quite poor, and seeing the improvement in the after number made the cost make more sense. The written wear observations told me the mainspring is starting to show its age. That's useful information, even if it means I'll be back sooner than I'd like for the fuller service.

I sent my watch by post from Sibu, which I was a bit nervous about. The bench gave clear packing instructions and confirmed receipt promptly. The light service itself was as described — no surprises, no additions I hadn't agreed to. They returned it with a detailed printed note and a small bag of the old gasket material they'd replaced. I didn't ask for that, but it was a thoughtful detail that showed the work was actually done.

Had the acrylic crystal polished on a vintage piece. The scratch that had been there for years is gone. I was a bit doubtful that polishing would work rather than a full swap, but they explained the difference clearly and were right. One thing I'd note: the wait to get it back was about ten days, which felt a bit long for what was done. That said, I understand they're doing one piece at a time, and the work is right.

Long bench restoration for my father's watch, which he'd received as a gift in the early 1980s and which had not been properly serviced since. The photograph updates throughout were unexpected and really appreciated — seeing the movement laid out and then reassembled gave me more confidence in the work than any certificate could. The timeline was about eleven weeks. A bit of a wait, but they were honest about it from the start and kept me informed when there was a delay finding one part.

Detailed Restoration Accounts
Challenge
A 1967 Swiss manual-wind dress watch, inherited, last professionally serviced in the 1990s. Movement would run for a few hours then stop. Owner was uncertain about the piece's value and whether a full service was justified.
Approach
Full disassembly revealed a worn mainspring and dried lubricant throughout. A stop-point was offered before mainspring sourcing — the owner reviewed the condition photographs and confirmed continuation. New mainspring sourced from an appropriate grade; all parts cleaned and reassembled with fresh lubricants.
Result
Movement now runs at approximately +8 seconds per day on the timing machine — within a reasonable range for its calibre and age. Total programme: 10 weeks. Owner received printed record, 14 photographs across four stages, and a note on the next service interval.
"I didn't expect to see the movement in pieces in a photograph — it was both alarming and reassuring at the same time."
Challenge
A Japanese automatic worn daily, purchased new seven years earlier and never serviced. Running but noticeably losing about two minutes per day over the previous six months. Owner wanted to know whether a light service would address it or whether something more was needed.
Approach
Timing machine reading at intake: -110 seconds per day. Light service carried out — lubrication of accessible parts, keyless works cleaned, rotor bearing checked. Rate re-checked post-service. Written wear report noted the rotor bearing showing early signs of wear, not yet a problem but worth monitoring.
Result
Post-service timing machine reading: -6 seconds per day. Owner was given a clear explanation of the rotor bearing note and advised on a rough interval for the fuller service if needed. Total time: 18 days including intake queue. Water-seal check passed.
"Seeing both numbers on the slip — before and after — was something I hadn't expected. It made the whole visit feel worth it."
Challenge
A dive-style watch with an acrylic crystal that had sustained a chip at the edge from a single knock. The watch was otherwise in good condition and the owner wanted to return it to usable state without disturbing the movement.
Approach
Crystal stock for the reference checked; two suitable options found. Owner shown both options by photograph before any fitting was confirmed. Original-pattern flat acrylic selected. Crystal fitted and seal checked. Water-seal test performed given the dive case design.
Result
Completed in 6 working days including sourcing time. Water-seal test passed to the rated depth of the case. Owner noted that being shown the crystal choices before fitting was something they would have expected from a watchmaker but rarely experienced.
"I've had crystal replacements done before where I wasn't consulted on anything. The difference in this case was noticeable."
